Maize silage plays a key role in Kieran Bourke’s farm system, helping to get the most from both his cows and his land. Farming in coastal Taranaki, Kieran milks 450 cows on 105 hectares, achieving production of up to 700kg MS/cow. Maize silage makes up around a quarter of the herd's annual diet, roughly 2 tonnes per cow, providing a reliable source of high-quality, high-starch feed throughout the year.
